Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter has been adamant about playing both positions in the NFL.
He recently confirmed that he won't play if a team tries to limit him to one side of the ball.
“It’s never playing football again. Because I've been doing it my whole life, and I love being on the football field. I feel like I could dominate on each side of the ball, so I really enjoy doing it," Hunter told CBS Sports.
The New York Giants are one of the teams that are interested in Hunter since they have the third overall pick. They'll have a chance to select Hunter if the Browns pass on him.
The Giants are completely fine with Hunter playing both positions if they take him third overall.
"If he gets hurt doing something that he’s not doing full-time, you’re going to kick yourself. But, he’s a unique athlete that I think will be able to do both," Giants GM Joe Schoen said, via On3.
Hunter is o ne of the best players in this draft and is widely predicted to go in the top three. He is a special talent and won the Heisman Trophy during the 2024 college football season.
He finished the season with 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns as a wide receiver and 35 total tackles, 11 passes defended, one forced fumble, and four interceptions as a cornerback.
Hunter even wants to be announced as a defensive back and wide receiver when he gets picked next week.
We'll see which team picks him when the 2025 NFL Draft starts next Thursday, April 24. It will be televised by ABC, ESPN, and NFL Network.
