The odds for Penn State-Ohio State has experienced some movement over the past six days.
As of Sunday, Ohio State was favored by 4.5-points per FanDual Sportsbook.
Now, it’s game day, and although Ohio State is still favored, it isn’t by as much.
FanDuel now has the line at +3.5 for Penn State.
Those who aren’t familiar with the Penn State-Ohio State series might be surprised that Penn State, despite being ranked higher (No. 3 vs. No. (4), having a better record (7-0 vs. 6-1) and playing at home would be the underdog. But when a team goes 1-9 over a 10 year stretch against another team, it won’t get the benefit of the doubt.

Penn State has played Ohio State 10 times since James Franklin took over as head coach in 2014 and won one of those games. The most recent one was particularly painful for QB Drew Allar. Allar, a Medina, Ohio, native playing in the home of his boyhood team went 18 for 42 for 191 yards in a 20-12 loss. Allar’s performance and the game’s result drove him to tears after the game.
Allar used one word to describe his performance at Ohio State.
“Sucked.”
When later asked why he felt he “sucked,” he said “because I did.”
Now, he and Penn State have a chance to flip the script.

For a while, Allar’s status for this year’s game was in question. He got hurt late in the first half of last week’s 28-13 win over Wisconsin, and coach James Franklin said Monday he expected Allar to be a game time decision. Early Friday afternoon, Pete Nakos of On3Sports reported that Allar is expected to start. So buckle up.
Penn State and Ohio State are scheduled to kickoff at noon on Fox. Odds are, it will be a good one, regardless of if Penn State wins.
