Brent Venables and the Oklahoma Sooners were in need of a boost to their offense in 2025 and they just got one Tuesday.

Per On3.com's Matt Zenitz, the Sooners were able to land former Cal star running back Jaydn Ott. Noting the ex-Golden Bear is an early-round NFL Draft prospect who was an All-American two years ago.

OU also announced the news via their social media account which got a ton of reaction from fans.

"HOLY [EXPLETIVE]," a user said.

"Give Jim Nagy a raise," another replied.

"LETS GOOOOOOOOO," a fan cheered.

"WERE BACK BABY NAGY IS THE GOAT!!!!!!" another person exclaimed.

"No nonsense… just business. Ready to work. Gotta love it," a Sooners fan account posted.

"Midway Deli should just go ahead and name a sandwich after Jim Nagy already."

"Heck of a start!" The Oklahoma Breakdown said.

"The #Sooners are putting this stuff to bed FAST," Casey Murdock admitted.

"Couple of really big pickups here for the Sooners heading into a pivotal year on the offensive side of the football. Ott especially has a chance to be one of the SEC’s best playmakers immediately in 2025."

Ott ran for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2023 and was one of the top players in the portal this year.

The Chino, CA native was limited to 10 games last season after suffering an ankle injury in Cal's season-opener that unfortunately snakebit the rest of his campaign — finishing with just 385 rushing yards and four TDs in '24.

Hopefully that won't be the case when he arrives in Norman because when he's right he's proven he can be one of the best in the country.
