On Tuesday afternoon, Mike Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboys added a talented player in the transfer portal, with an ACC linebacker heading to Stillwater.
Louisville linebacker Darius Thomas was the latest player to join the Cowboys, who transferred to Louisville this winter in the portal.
In 2024 with Western Kentucky, Thomas recorded 54 tackles, four sacks, and one forced fumble. He joined Louisville in the winter transfer portal and spent a few months with the team before electing to depart the program for Oklahoma State.
Coming out of Miramar High School in the Class of 2022, Thomas was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 888th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 75th-ranked player at his position and the 119th-ranked player in the state of Florida.
At the time of his commitment to Louisville, Thomas checked in as the 411th-best player available in the transfer portal.
Initially, Thomas received offers from nine different programs and chose the Hilltoppers over offers from Georgia, Colorado, Texas A&M, Toledo, South Dakota, and more.
With the commitment, Oklahoma State added its 30th player of the offseason through the transfer portal, a group that checks in as the Big 12’s fifth-ranked group and the nation’s 31st-ranked unit.
