The latest batch of Coaches Poll rankings are out, and Penn State is still in a good place after its 28-13 win at Wisconsin Saturday night.
As expected, 7-0 Penn State stayed put at No. 3.
The only teams in the country ahead of Penn State are top-ranked Oregon— who is going through its first Big Ten season but isn’t scheduled to play Penn State until 2025– and No. 2 Georgia.
At halftime of the Wisconsin game, it looked like Penn State’s perfect season could be going down the drain. PSU trialed 10-7 and QB Drew Allar was out with an injury. But Beau Pribula (11-13, 98 yards, TD pass) got the job done, and Penn State moved to 7-0 with a W.

Also as expected, Ohio State stayed at No. 4 heading into its Nov. 2 clash in Happy Valley. Ohio State also went through some adversity Saturday, fending off four-score underdog Nebraska with a 21-17 win in Columbus. This will be the first top-five matchup between the teams since 1996 and just the second overall.
Drew Allar looks to pass.
Regardless of rankings, Penn State is 1-9 against Ohio State in the James Franklin era. For many— fair or not— these failures define his Penn State tenure. Franklin and Penn State will have a chance to change the narrative Saturday afternoon.
Kickoff is scheduled for noon on Fox. Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff Show, ESPN’s College GameDay and possibly Donald Trump will be in attendance.
