Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer starred in recruiting during his first year in Tuscaloosa as Alabama pulled in the No. 4 recruiting class in the country, according to 247Sports. In the 2025 recruiting cycle, DeBoer brought in four-star tight end Marshall Pritchett.
The recruiting success with tight ends could continue as three-star tight end Luke Sorensen shared his thoughts on DeBoer's program.
"This offer is huge to me; I love the coaching staff and the program," Sorensen said after receiving an offer. "The way they utilize the tight ends is second to none."
Sorensen is a California native and is ranked as the No. 67 player in his home state according to The 247Sports Composite. The No. 628 player in the 2026 recruiting class has already scheduled summer visits with UCLA, Miami, Texas, Texas A&M and Florida.
During the 2024 season, five different tight ends caught a pass for the Crimson Tide, with C.J. Dipree, Robbie Ouzts, Josh Cuevas, Ty Lockwood, and Jay Lindsey all notching a reception. Three of those have departed the program with Dipree and Ouzts out of eligibility while Lockwood transferred to Boston College.
Dipree, Ouzts, and Cuevas combined for 55 catches, 582 receiving yards, and three receiving touchdowns.
The 2025 tight end room for Alabama will have Cuevas, Danny Lewis Jr., and Pritchett.
Alabama currently has just one commitment in the 2026 recruiting cycle in cornerback Zyan Gibson. Gibson is ranked as the No. 58 player in the country and No. 4 defensive back, according to The 247Sports Composite.
