College football teams can reportedly begin vying for Darian Mensah's services next week.

According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, Tulane's starting quarterback will enter the transfer portal after a standout freshman season. Mensah has three years of collegiate eligibility remaining.

Mensah joined Tulane as a three-star recruit with no NIL money in 2023. He redshirted his first year, watching the Green Wave go 11-3 behind senior Michael Pratt.

After the Packers drafted Pratt in the seventh round, Mensah earned Tulane's starting job. He promptly proved he belonged by completing 10 of 12 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns in his debut.

Mensah finished the season with 2,723 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions with 9.5 yards per attempt. Tulane placed as high as No. 17 in the College Football Playoff rankings, but the season ended with a loss to Memphis before falling to Army in the American Athletic Championship Game.

If he transfers, Mensah concluded his Green Wave career with 209 passing yards, 41 rushing yards, two touchdowns, and a pick in a 35-14 loss to the Black Knights at West Point. Tulane went 9-4, dropping non-conference matchups to Kansas State and Oklahoma in September.

Mensah hired Young Money APAA Sports in October. Although he wasn't a highly regarded recruit, he could now receive significant NIL offers and the opportunity to start for a Power Four program in 2025.

The winter transfer portal officially opens on Monday. USC's Miller Moss, Oklahoma's Jackson Arnold, Texas A&M's Conner Weigman, and Liberty's Kaidon Salter are among some other notable quarterbacks who will enter the portal.

Tulane must turn elsewhere under center when facing Florida in the Gasparilla Bowl on Friday, Dec. 20.
