20 celebrity duos with matching tattoos

Cara Delevingne and Selena Gomez have friendship tattoos. Each of them has a rose - Delevingne's on her ribcage and Gomez's on her back. 

Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams have been best friends since meeting on the set of Game of Thrones. They solidified their friendship with matching tattoos — the sequence "07.08.08." It notes the date they both found out they were cast in the HBO hit. 

Who says you can't get a matching tattoo with your godchild? Macaulay Culkin and his godchild, Paris Jackson, have a set of matching tattoos. 

Zendaya and Tom Holland keep most details about their relationship private, but eagle-eyed fans have noticed a pair of matching tattoos on the couple. Holland has a tiny "Z" above his ribcage while Zendaya has a "T" above hers.  

To some, tattoos are nothing more than a reminder of a time in a person’s life, and that appears to be the case for Miley Cyrus. While dating Cody Simpson, Cyrus repeated history by getting a tattoo with her significant other. The two both had tridents marked on their bodies. Cyrus and Simpson have since broken up, but we’ll be waiting to see which significant other Cyrus gets matching tattoos with next. 

Golden State baller Steph Curry teamed up with his wife, Ayesha, for matching tattoos in honor of their children. The famous duo both have a butterfly, wolf, and unicorn to represent their three kids. Before getting that ink, the Currys got arrows on their arms to remind them to stay present. 

Miley Cyrus has tons of tiny tattoos across her body, and one of them matches some body art on her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth. While still together, the former duo each got inked with a rendering of a jar of Vegemite, a nod to Hemsworth’s home country. Cyrus chose her arm for placement while Hemsworth had his placed on his ankle. No word if the tattoos are still intact post-divorce. 

David and Victoria Beckham might be the only celebrity couple whose marriage has outlived their matching tattoos. To celebrate their sixth anniversary, the famous couple got matching tattoos, David’s on his arm and Victoria’s down her back. While David still has his — the words “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine" in Hebrew — Posh had hers removed. But fear not, the couple didn’t split up. Victoria simply didn’t like the way it looked after over a decade on her body. 

Joe Jonas isn’t the only Jonas brother to match tattoos with his wife. His younger brother, Nick Jonas, has a matching tattoo with his wife, Priyanka Chopra. The pair each have a check and a box on different places on their bodies, paying homage to Jonas’ marriage proposal to Chopra. 

Pete Davidson is no stranger to inking himself in the name of love. Though she never got any for him, Davidson famously added multiple tattoos to his bodily collection when he was dating Kim Kardashian. But that wasn’t the first time he dedicated a spot on his skin to a girlfriend. While in a relationship with Ariana Grande, both Davidson and Grande got multiple tattoos matching with and in honor of the other, including the outline of a cloud on their left-hand middle fingers. 

Learn from Drake and Rihanna: if you’re going to get a matching tattoo with your significant other, get one small enough to cover up if necessary. The former couple each got a camo-print shark, Drake’s on his arm, and Rihanna’s on her ankle. Post-breakup, Rihanna had a crown tattooed over her shark, giving new meaning to queen behavior. No word on whether Drake has covered up his shark. 

Matching couple tattoos can be as unique as each couple’s relationship, but they’re often one of a few standard options. Taylor Lautner and Taylor Dome could’ve easily gotten each other’s names, which wouldn’t have to be removed or covered up should they ever split. Instead, they went with another classic choice: their wedding date. In their defense, their wedding date, 11/11/22, makes for a cool tattoo. 

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen need to update their matching tattoos. Back in 2019, they each inked their arm with the names of the other members of their family — Legend’s reading “Chrissy Luna Miles” and Teigen’s reading the same, just swapping her first name for her husband’s. In early 2023, Teigen gave birth to the couple’s third child, Esti. Hopefully, they’ve got enough room on their arms for a small addition. 

Katy Perry and Russell Brand weren’t together for long, but they made (semi) permanent changes to their bodies while they were. Perry and Brand both marked their arms with the phrase “Anuugacchati Pravaha,” which means go with the flow. Brand reportedly got his removed after they divorced, but photos of the tattoo can still be found online. If anything’s more permanent than a tattoo, it’s the internet. 

Leave it to Beyoncé and Jay-Z to have simple yet significant matching tattoos. The famous couple each has the number four in Roman numerals (Beyoncé’s has since been changed a tiny bit) on their ring fingers in honor of their wedding date, but the number four has more meaning to the couple than just that date. Both musicians have albums including the number, and both were born on the fourth day of their respective months, just to name a couple of reasons why they laud the number. 

Amid their former relationship, Ashley Benson and Cara Delevingne each got the other’s initials tattooed on their bodies. While fans thought it a sweet gesture at the time, it lessened in sincerity since the ink session, and not just because they broke up. Delevingne has several tattoos, many of which she’s gotten with or in honor of another person, including Selena Gomez, Jourdan Dunn, and Kaia Gerber. 

When someone has as many tattoos as Justin Bieber, it’s only a matter of time before they go under the needle in honor of their significant other. And since his wife, Hailey Bieber, has her own set of ink, it should come as no surprise that the couple has matching tats. Back in 2021, the two both got a little peach tattoo. Neither has explained its particular significance to the couple, but it could have something to do with Justin’s hit song “Peaches.”

It must be a family thing. Miley Cyrus’ younger sister Noah Cyrus has also gotten matching tattoos with her significant other. While she was with Tanner Drayton, the former couple got stars tattooed on different parts of their wrists. We have yet to see if the matching tattoo gene is as strong in Noah as it is in Miley. 

Though she’s not with him anymore, Ariel Winter has multiple tattoos that match her ex, Levi Meaden. The two each have opposite halves of a heart on their hands, and they have finger tattoos of their old food-inspired pet names, cheese on Winter, and peanut butter on Meaden. There are certainly worse tattoos to share with an ex.
