20 movies about older people that the youth should appreciate

In the ‘90s, movies featuring people who appeared anywhere from 40-to-99 years old were commonplace hits with the younger folks. Fans of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers could fully appreciate the comedic charm of Steve Martin, the wise ways of Morgan Freeman, and the sexy sass of Goldie Hawn. Today? It seems like the kids aren’t interested unless it’s about a superhero or something they can consume within 30 seconds or less on TikTok. It's a shame because there are a lot of cinematic wonders out there from then and now starring older casts that today’s youth should appreciate more.

Well, Streep also finds herself back in bed with her ex. See, very Avril Lavigne — complicated.

‘The First Wives Club’
Paramount Pictures

One of the top 10 reasons millennial women are such feminists is The First Wives Club . This movie taught "girl power" before Spice Girls took over the world. Plus, for all the young Ariana Grande fans out there, when she performed “Thank U, Next” on Ellen, she paid homage to this film's final scene. That’s how important it is.
