Actors like Tom Hanks can step into myriad roles, all so different from one another, and deliver every time. The same can be said of Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep, and newer phenoms like Lupita Nyong'o and Brian Tyree Henry. On the flip side, some actors do not do that.
