23 of the most iconic green characters in pop culture

One of the most popular colors for some of the world’s most popular, notable, and beloved characters is green! Yes, that color in the rainbow that conjures up visions of lush grass fields, sea turtles, and those pricey pieces of avocado toast are all the same colors as characters that come from everywhere in the pop culture realm, from galaxies far, far away to the everyday trash can. So whether people think of them out of the blue or are tickled pink by their presence, there is no doubt that these are the best green characters out there.

The accolades are one thing, but Shrek has become a key figure in pop and internet culture — a favorite GIF and meme reaction for many.

It’s no surprise to see Kermit the Frog on a list of the best green characters because, to many, he’s the first one to pop into their heads when they think of this subject. The heart of The Muppets, Kermit can be a frantic mess at times when his friends drive him up a wall, but most of the time, he evokes nothing but pure joy.
