Avengers: Doomsday may have a release date, but it is not yet in production.

Set to head to theaters on May 1, 2026, the film – formerly titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty – will begin filming during the second quarter of 2025 in London, as per Variety.

The previous two Avengers films were shot in Atlanta, but this time, Marvel is heading overseas to shoot, which Shawn Levy also did with the recently released Deadpool & Wolverine.

Anthony and Joe Russo are in the directors' chairs for Avengers: Doomsday and will also helm Avengers: Secret Wars, which has its release set for May 2027.

Further details on Avengers: Doomsday are sparse, but Stephen McFeely, who was responsible for writing Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, will pen the screenplay.

The confirmed cast includes The Fantastic Four's Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and the newly announced Robert Downey Jr., who has been cast as Doctor Doom.

Marvel is known for its sneaky surprises, so we imagine that's all we'll be getting for the time being, but Avengers: Doomsday will surely be one of the most anticipated releases in 2026.
