Fans of weirdo hip-hop rejoice, as Deltron 3030 is getting back out there to tour. The group is comprised of rapper Del the Funkee Homosapien (who you might at least remember from being on one of the "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" soundtracks), DJ Kid Koala, and producer Dan the Automater.
In 2000, they released their debut record, a self-titled, conceptual offering about a sci-fi future in the year, yes, 3030. Though Deltron 3030 has been far from prolific (together, as they have had other projects), the gang is getting back together for a 25th anniversary tour wherein they will perform all of "Deltron 3030" in full.
The Deltron 3030 dates kick off on the West Coast in July, and then after an August respite they shall regroup to tour in the Midwest and Northeast in September and October.
Anniversary tours of this ilk, wherein an entire album is the centerpiece, have become increasingly common, but they also offer up a rare opportunity to see an album you love performed, in full, as a true interactive listening experience. It'll be like listening to "Deltron 3030" at home, but Del, Dan, and Koala will be there!
Now, if Dan the Automater could only grab Prince Paul for a Handsome Boy Modeling School reunion tour...
