Judge Judy Sheindlin ended her 25-year Judge Judy run in July, but she couldn't stay away from the courtroom for too long.
IMDb TV dropped its first-look trailer for Judy Justice:
"The Honorable Judy Sheindlin, retired Judge of the Manhattan family Court, brings her signature blend of sharp wit and wisdom, hilarious candor and unwavering honesty that has made her America's favorite judge for over 25 years, as she presides over real cases, arbitrates binding decisions and delivers what only she can: 'Judy Justice,'" the video's official description reads. "She is accompanied by a cast consisting of a court clerk, court stenographer and bailiff."
The 78-year-old daytime television staple initially announced her plan to shift from Judge Judy to Judy Justice on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in March 2020:
Judge Judy debuted in 1996 and ran for 25 seasons. As she did with DeGeneres, Sheindlin detailed her messy exit from CBS with The Wall Street Journal this summer, which was relayed by Deadline:
"In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Sheindlin said tensions with CBS made her toss in the towel on her long-running daytime courtroom reality show. Most of the ire stems from CBS buying out Sheindlin's ownership of Judge Judy reruns, ostensibly to stop her from shopping the show’s library.
"Sheindlin added that she felt 'disrespected' by CBS’s work on Hot Bench, another courtroom show she created in 2014. Some CBS-owned stations 'in major markets' bumped Hot Bench to make room for The Drew Barrymore Show, the WSJ story contended."
"I'm not tired," Sheindlin explained to The Hollywood Reporter in May." I don't play golf or tennis. I have no desire to learn how to play mahjong, chess or checkers. I know what I like to do. Why, at my stage in life, would I try to find something else when I already know what I like? And this isn't a 9-to-5 job. I've still got the time to see the children I love, the grandchildren who are growing up very fast and the cute mate who I still get a kick out of."
Judy Justice is set for a Nov. 1 premiere on the streaming service.
