Joker Folie à Deux’s Rating Plummets on Rotten Tomatoes

Joker: Folie à Deux divided critics once more in the first reviews out of the Venice Film Festival last month, but it seems now that more people are leaning hard into the negative, as – following its debut at 60% – Joker: Folie à Deux now has a rotten rating of 39% on review aggregate site, Rotten Tomatoes.

The film now has over 170 reviews, and the rotten ones are rising to the top, with the most recent one being from Matthew Razak at Escapist Magazine, who says, "So, whether the movie is some middle finger by Phillips to the world or just a meaningless rambling, the joke really is on us."

Our review says that Joker 2 is the very thing it is trying to reject, but audiences will now be able to find out for themselves since Joker: Folie à Deux hit theaters today.

While the overwhelming majority of critics have little positivity to sprinkle over Joker: Folie à Deux, it doesn't matter. Todd Phillips' predecessor took over $1 billion at the box office in 2019, suggesting that Joker: Folie à Deux will do just fine during its theatrical run.
