The Knives Out 3 budget has been revealed, and if reports are true, it’s a staggering amount.
Allegedly, the third film in writer/director Rian Johnson’s murder-mystery series has a whopping $210M budget. If true, that’s almost six times the budget of both 2019’s first Knives Out, and its 2022 sequel, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, which reportedly each cost a modest $40M.
It’s worth mentioning this report isn’t official, however. The rumor comes from The InSneider. The figure would be a massive jump up from previous instalments, especially since in March 2021, Netflix outbid Amazon and Apple to acquire Knives Out 2 and Knives Out 3, with the deal giving each film a reported budget of at least $40 million. Netflix paid $469 million in the deal.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery marks Johnson’s return as director, with Daniel Craig reprising his much-loved role as genius detective Benoit Blanc. It’s already wrapped filming, so whatever the budget is, much of it has already been spent. We can only imagine how a Marvel-sized amount of money is being used.
But who is in Knives Out 3? Here’s the cast list, release date, and platform for the film.
