I think I speak for all fans of Only Murders in the Building when I say that Martin Short's Oliver Putnam is one of the funniest characters on television right now. Of course, seeing him work alongside longtime collaborator and friend Steve Martin is always a treat, and Selena Gomez rounds out the trio quite nicely. 

Without Martin Short, Three Amigos! wouldn't be considered the classic it is today, and that's a fact. We can't imagine anyone else playing Ned Nederlander, and why would we want to? I mean, "My Little Buttercup," anyone?

Martin Short certainly made the most of his short-lived role (I'm sorry) as Uncle Jack in Arrested Development. Although it was only one episode, I swear I remember him playing a bigger part in the series. I'll chalk it up to wishful thinking, but regardless, he was certainly memorable.

I cannot tell you how thrilled I was to see Martin Short bring back Jiminy Glick on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The character originated on The Martin Short Show and quickly became a fully-fledged icon during Primetime Glick, resulting in a feature film and various television appearances. I can't be the only one who's excited to see what he does next.

This one is probably just for me, but I absolutely loved Treasure Planet. B.E.N. was my favorite character, so when I discovered that he was voiced by Martin Short, my love for him suddenly made sense. What an underrated performance and masterpiece of a film!

Another one of Martin Short's best roles has to be Franck from Father of the Bride and Father of the Bride Part II. It was a pleasure to see the two comedy geniuses, Short and Steve Martin, team up again for what would inevitably become another hit.

We couldn't possibly forget about Martin Short's role as Press Secretary Jerry Ross in Mars Attacks! The cast were all such good sports, agreeing to be in this film, proving that they don't take themselves too seriously, much like Short in just about every project he's a part of.

Three Fugitives is a comedy that can easily be overlooked, but those who watched it as kids seem to have a deeper appreciation for it. This movie is incredibly underrated and one I'd call an '80s hidden gem, thanks to, you guessed it, Martin Short.

They really don't make movies like this anymore, do they? Martin Short did a lot of movies like Captain Ron back then, but this time, he played the straight man opposite Kurt Russell. It should come as a shock to no one that Short starred in yet another familiar favorite from our childhoods.

Is there a better actor when it comes to physical comedy? I think not. Casting Martin Short as the character with the worst luck imaginable was the obvious choice here. Although Pure Luck isn’t the greatest film in the world, it’s still enjoyable because of Short’s natural comedic instincts.

I don't think anyone ever suspected comedy icon Martin Short would be in a legal drama series. That said, his performance as attorney Leonard Winstone in season three of Damages has to be one of the best of his career, as it earned him an Emmy Award nomination in 2010.

Fans of sketch comedy know that one of Martin Short's most notable characters is Ed Grimley from SCTV and Saturday Night Live, so I'm counting it as one of his best roles. An Ed Grimley appearance puts a smile on everyone's faces and makes a sketch that much better, I must say.
