Most popular TV shows on Netflix last week

Despite formidable competition cropping up on many sides, Netflix continues to be an undisputed leader when it comes to streaming with more than 260 million subscribers worldwide (and counting). This streaming giant has undoubtedly changed the landscape of entertainment and, because it has traditionally released all episodes of a season for a television show at once, it has also become one of the top destinations for binge-watching.

For over a decade, Netflix has produced its own original television content, along with licensing numerous shows from other sources for its rotating catalog, and gave viewers something to watch out for including such hits as "House of Cards," a long-awaited new season of "Arrested Development," and "Orange is the New Black." Its bets on original production also meant a breakthrough not just for Hollywood, but for entertainment on a global scale, introducing viewers to the likes of South Korean show "Squid Game," which drew 1.6 billion viewing hours in just 28 days.

The streaming giant now offers a TV show genre for every kind of viewer. Along with prestige drama shows like "Stranger Things," there are traditional sitcoms like "Fuller House," prestigious Emmy-winning miniseries like "Beef," and adult animated comedies like "BoJack Horseman." There are countless anime shows that subscribers can watch, along with Netflix-produced adaptations of some of these shows, including "One Piece."

Shows from outside of the United States like the German-made "Dark" find an audience on the streaming service, while genres like true crime documentaries like "Tiger King," dating reality shows like "Love is Blind," romantic period pieces like "Bridgerton," and comedic horror like "Wednesday" diversify Netflix's offerings. Shows from other sources will also come and go, with the library regularly changing and updating, leaving a viewer to wonder, "What should I add to my queue next?"

To simplify the process of choosing which show to binge next, Stacker has compiled a list of the 10 most-watched television shows on Netflix from March 31-April 6. Read on to see the definitive favorites to watch on the service.
