Hollywood is bringing religion back into the mainstream. Jesus Revolution made a splash at the box office, First Reformed made a dent at the art house and movies like Exodus parted the Red Sea at the theater. Religion has long been a staple of cinema, with some of the first blockbusters being about Christianity and some of the first movies being about parables. Our list is here to make you a believer in the genre and prove that the genre has always made great films.

Ja Morant is back to making headlines for all the wrong reasons, and one Hall of Famer says he would love to talk some sense into the Memphis Grizzlies point guard. TMZ caught up with Spencer Haywood at Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday and asked the former Seattle SuperSonics forward to share some of his thoughts on the latest drama surrounding Morant. Haywood, who said he knows Morant personally, did not hold back. Haywood, a four-time NBA All-Star, blasted Morant for being "arrogant." "He's arrogant. He don't care, and the people that are around him are not advising him right," Haywood said. "He's ruining his career. He's ruining his family's life. And most importantly his team, he's letting them all down. I'm just disappointed in Ja. I know him. "If you've been suspended for doing it and you've been suspended for having a gun, and then you're pointing a gun at Golden State and at Draymond and the rest of them? There's no excuse, bro." Haywood added that he was considering flying to Memphis to speak with Morant in person. The NBA announced on Friday that Morant has been fined $75,000 for making a gun-related gesture on more than one occasion earlier in the week. Morant and Golden State Warriors guard Buddy Hield were issued warnings after they made gun gestures toward one another on Tuesday night. Despite the warning, Morant then made the same motion with his arms after he hit a three-pointer during the Grizzlies' game against the Miami Heat on Thursday night. Morant has been suspended multiple times in his career after videos surfaced that showed him flashing a gun. After all of that, he still thought it was a good idea to do a gun-related celebration after an alley-oop dunk last season and then multiple times this week. Given his latest cryptic social media post, it is fair to wonder if Morant even learned his lesson following the latest embarrassing series of events.
Could Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe go much higher in the 2025 NFL Draft than many expect? On Sunday, The Athletic's Dane Brugler tweeted Milroe accepted his invitation to the draft, scheduled for April 24-26 in Green Bay. It's worth noting the league is being more selective with prospects who are being invited to the draft this year. In February, Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz tweeted the league "only plans on inviting eight to 10 players who [it] feels are all top picks." Tankathon projects that the New Orleans Saints will take Milroe (6-foot-2, 217 pounds) with pick No. 93 in the third round. In March, however, FS1's Colin Cowherd said an NFL executive told him the Pittsburgh Steelers may consider taking Milroe with pick No. 21 in the first round (h/t Steelers Depot's Joe Clark). On March 18, NFL Media's Tom Pelissero tweeted the Steelers had dinner with the QB before his pro day. The Steelers are still courting free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers, who has yet to decide whether he'll sign with them. Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson are the only QBs on Pittsburgh's active roster. Rudolph and Thompson have a combined 10-10-1 starting record in the regular season. Still, the Steelers or another team taking Milroe in the first round would be a shock. He didn't look NFL-ready in his final season at Alabama. In 13 games, he had 36 touchdowns (16 passing and 20 rushing) but also tossed a career-high 11 interceptions. Milroe has some upside but may need to sit a season to reach his potential. Typically, NFL teams spend first-round picks on players who can start immediately. QBs, however, are often drafted too high. In three of the past four drafts, three or more QBs have gone in the first round. Milroe getting invited to the draft doesn't mean he's a guaranteed first-rounder, but where and how high he goes could be one of its more compelling storylines.
The Cleveland Browns lay claim to the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft, and if they decide to keep the selection, the general consensus is that they will take one of three players: Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter. This is assuming that Cam Ward goes No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans, of course. However, the Browns are reportedly considering select a sleeper player with the second pick that may cause fans to revolt: Michigan Wolverines defensive lineman Mason Graham. At least that is what ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported over the weekend. “They are mysterious right now and I think they like to be. They are enjoying this process," Fowler said. "The Browns have spent a significant amount of time with Carter in the last few weeks in this process. He has felt the love and connection with that team. So, if time invested tells us anything, he would very well be the pick opposite Myles Garrett, but they have a shortlist. Shedeur Sanders is on it, Travis Hunter is on it, Mason Graham, the big defensive tackle from Michigan, is on it." Graham is widely viewed as one of the top defensive prospects in this upcoming draft class, but it would be an absolute shock if Cleveland takes him at No. 2. That's especially considering the Browns could definitely trade down and still nab him. Now, to be fair, Fowler didn't elaborate on whether or not Cleveland was considering moving down. Perhaps the only way the Browns would really select Graham is if they traded back, but regardless, he is certainly not the player most Cleveland fans are hoping for.
The Dallas Cowboys want to improve this offseason after a disappointing 2024 campaign. Dallas struggled in 2024 because of injuries to key players like Micah Parsons and Dak Prescott. Parsons recently got involved in a social media dispute over one QB in the 2025 draft class. Jaguars safety Andre Cisco started a firestorm on social media after critiquing Shedeur Sanders’ tendency to pat the ball before throwing. “Boy better stop patting that ball, we breakin onnat earlyyy,” Cisco posted on Friday night. Cisco is suggesting that Sanders’ tendency to pat the ball is predictable. As a result, NFL defenses will be able to key in on that and potentially break up his pass or get an interception. However, Giants WR Darius Slayton disagrees. Slayton fired back in defense of Sanders, suggesting that patting the ball is not some kind of dealbreaker for NFL quarterbacks. “There’s these large fellows called lineman who are in between line of sight so if a QB isn’t 6’4-6’5+ you lose them behind the OL all the time so if i can’t see the QB throw it to me how in the Flying Dutchman is a DB gonna see him pat it BEFORE he throws it,” Slayton replied on social media. This comment drew Micah Parsons into the conversation. “You realize [a pat] on the ball can be difference between a sack or a throw away/completion?” Parsons fired back at Slayton. Parsons is suggesting that patting the ball can be a problem if it keeps Sanders in the pocket longer than normal. Micah Parsons hit with ‘out there’ critique amid Cowboys contract talks Micah Parsons is due a monster contract extension sometime in the next year. Many Cowboys fans are hopeful it will happen this offseason. The Athletic’s Mike Sando shared an interesting comment about a potential Parsons extension on Thursday. Sando shared a quote from one NFL executive who suggested that the Cowboys may view Parsons as too expensive to extend. “If you wait out Jerry (Jones), he will pay,” an exec said via Sando. “But there are people who think Parsons is ‘out there’ a little bit and might not be worth paying at the highest level, so it will be interesting to see where Dallas falls on that.” The Cowboys have not historically cared about paying more money for a star player at a premium position. As a result, the Cowboys may value Parsons higher than other NFL teams. Either way, Parsons will certainly have a strong market if he does not agree to a contract with the Cowboys. He will get his large pay day one way or another. Cowboys fans are simply hopeful it happens in Dallas.
