We know Dakota Johnson for being a "nepo baby" and starring in the film adaptations of Fifty Shades of Grey, but we’ll remember her for calling out Ellen DeGeneres for lying about being invited to Johnson’s party on DeGeneres’ show in 2019. The moment Johnson became a legend in her own right was filmed for all to see. 

Almost all of Ziwe’s interviews are memorable, but it’s because Ziwe is a formidable host whose style can’t be matched by most interviewees. Julia Fox is the exception, however, and she proved to be a worthy guest when she appeared on the short-lived talk show.

It was commonplace in the 1970s for interviewers to ask their guests, particularly women, uncomfortable questions, but when Barbara Walters asked Dolly Parton sexist questions about her appearance, Parton had no time for it. She shut down the interview like a pro. 

Not every memorable interview is uncomfortable. Some are just funny. When Mila Kunis went on BBC Radio 10 years ago, she managed to stay completely off-topic the entire time. The interviewer thought his career was over after the hilarious bit.

Ellen DeGeneres wasn’t always the most gracious host. On another episode of her show, DeGeneres mocked Sofia Vergara’s English. Vergara, a native Spanish speaker, played along a bit but defended herself, as she should have. 

You never know what will happen at awards shows  — or after, so it seems. The night Jennifer Lawrence won her Oscar in 2013, she was interviewed after the ceremony , and she was completely stunned when Jack Nicholson interrupted her to compliment her movie and performance. 

Anna Nicole Smith dealt with a lot of public abuse while she was in the spotlight, and to some, none was more abhorrent than her interview with radio personality Howard Stern. Stern took to the mic to mock Smith for her weight and asked her to get on a scale in his studio. Smith was sure to defend herself the entire time. 

Graham Norton interviews are almost always entertaining, but one of the standouts was Mark Wahlberg’s appearance on the show in 2013 . Wahlberg spent the entire bit interrupting fellow guest Sarah Silverman, sitting on Norton’s lap, and engaging in other odd behavior. The actor was accused of being drunk during the interview, but Wahlberg claimed he planned to behave that way. 

Michael Jackson was taken to task by interviewers more than once, but one of the most viral moments was his turn on Oprah Winfrey when the iconic talk show host asked the iconic singer if he’s had plastic surgery. Jackson admitted to some procedures but denied others. 

Taylor Swift won’t accept being asked misogynistic questions, especially not during a televised interview. When on the red carpet at the 2015 Grammys, Swift assured the nosy interviewer that she’d be hanging out with her friends after the ceremony and going home to her cats, not with a man. 

Morgan Freeman is a busy guy. Sometimes, he needs to sleep! Apparently, the opportune times are during press tours. While promoting his film Now You See It , Freeman seemingly dozed off while his co-star Michael Caine answered questions about the movie. 

Jennifer Lawrence is never not an entertaining guest, but she was particularly entertaining on an episode of Between Two Ferns when she matched Zach Galifianakis’ energy perfectly. Lawrence wasn’t going to be the only person at the interview getting jabbed. 

No one on Earth will ever forget Tom Cruise proclaiming his love for Katie Holmes on Oprah Winfrey. The actor infamously jumped on the host’s couch to show just how crazy he was about his former love. 

Robin Williams had multiple epic appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, but perhaps Williams’ best appearance was his first in 1984 when he couldn't stop making Carson laugh. It was clear to everyone that Williams was a star. 

Graham Norton has been known to pull stunts on his show here and there, and he pulled a classic one on Emma Stone. The actor is a huge Spice Girls fan, and for a brief moment, Norton had Stone convinced the band was there to surprise her. 

Back when A$AP Rocky was just becoming mainstream, he was interviewed by a contest winner on MTV. The interviewer seemed to lack the skills necessary for the job, but A$AP handled it well. Although he did tell her she had a weird vibe. In his defense, she did.

The internet will always love the incredibly uncomfortable red carpet interview where Shailene Woodley seemed to have no time for the interviewer or her questions. Woodley dismissed most of what she was asked, and she curtly told the interviewer that she should eat if she was hungry. 

Julia Fox can be counted on for a soundbite. Her pronunciation of Uncut Gems while on Call Her Daddy became one of the most viral memes to ever hit TikTok. Fox is proving to be the gift that keeps on giving. 

Kim Kardashian has been on Jimmy Kimmel Live! multiple times, but her best interview had nothing to do with Kimmel. In his absence, Jennifer Lawrence played host in 2017, and her interview with Kardashian was nothing short of hysterical.
