The most anticipated albums of 2025

From Beyoncé and Sabrina Carpenter to Kendrick Lamar and Kali Uchis, 2024 was full of unforgettable music. Now, we're wondering which artists will drop the big hits in 2025 and keep us talking all year. The new year is already shaping up to be just as exciting, with plenty of long-awaited albums and some significant comebacks in the works. From Lana Del Rey to The Weeknd, here are 20 artists we're excited to hear new music from in 2025.

Alessia Cara

It’s been four years since pop singer Alessia Cara released her third album In the Meantime. As she prepares to release her new album Love & Hyperbole, Cara dropped her lead single “Dead Man,” which was produced and co-written by Mike Elizondo, who’s produced hits for other artists such as Snoop Dogg, Nelly Furtado, Maroon 5, Natasha Bedingfield, Ed Sheeran to name a few. Cara followed up with the album’s second single “(Isn’t It) Obvious,” a smooth track that features a guitar solo from John Mayer. Love & Hyperbole is set to release on Valentine’s Day 2025.

Tate McRae

Just two years after releasing her sophomore album Think Later, pop singer Tate McRae is returning with her third album So Close to What. She teamed up with songwriters Ryan Tedder, Savan Kotecha, and ILYA on the album’s lead single “It’s OK I’m OK,” a track that reached the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. She then followed up with the second single “2 Hands,” in which McRae highlights to a lover that she wants to see more actions rather than words. So Close to What is set to be released on February 21, 2025.

Nao

It was back in 2021 when R&B singer Nao released her third album And Then Life Was Beautiful. As she gears up to release her next album Jupiter, Nao has released two singles, “Wildflowers” and “Elevate.” Jupiter will feature 11 tracks and is set to drop on February 21.

Lady Gaga

When pop singer Lady Gaga teamed up with Bruno Mars on their 2024 single “Die With A Smile,” fans often wondered if this was any indication of a new album brewing. Well, fans didn’t have to wonder too long, in a September interview with Vogue, Gaga announced that she’ll be releasing her new album LG7 in February. In fact, the album’s lead single “Disease” showcases that Gaga is ready to take her electropop essence to a new level.

The Weeknd

The Weeknd

The Weeknd has always been the type of artist who typically takes a few years off creatively before he releases new music. Well, this is no different as his sixth album Hurry Up Tomorrow comes three years after his previous album Dawn FM. To support his upcoming album, The Weeknd released three singles including “Dancing In The Flames” and the Playboi Carti-assisted track “Timeless.” Hurry Up Tomorrow is set to be released on January 24.

Kesha

Kesha was previously signed to RCA and Kemosabe Records, but 2024 marked a new era for the singer. She’s going the independent route with the launch of Kesha Records, which means the singer will now have ownership and full creativity over her music. With the new era brewing, Kesha is set to release her sixth album sometime in 2025.

Lana Del Rey

Back in 2023, singer Lana Del Rey released her ninth album Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd to rave reviews. Well, Del Rey is set to return in May 2025 with her new album The Right Person Will Stay, which will feature 13 tracks.

Mac Miller

It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly seven years since the world tragically lost Mac Miller. Since his passing, Miller’s estate has been very strategic regarding releasing any of the rapper’s music posthumously. The estate released Miller’s posthumous album Circles back in 2020, and is set to follow up with Balloonerism on January 17. Not only does this album give fans a chance to hear music they’ve never heard before, but it also showcases just how much his estate still handles his art with care while honoring his legacy.

FKA Twigs

It’s hard to believe that it’s been six years since electropop singer FKA Twigs released her sophomore studio album Magdalene. In 2024, Twigs released three singles including “Drums of Death” and “Perfect Stranger.” Twigs is set to release her album Eusexua on January 24, 2025, and her fans have waited long enough.

Melanie Fiona

It was back in 2012 when R&B singer Melanie Fiona released her sophomore album The MF Life which featured hit singles like “4AM” and “Gone and Never Coming Back.” Since then, Fiona has only released a single here and there over the years such as “Bite the Bullet” and “Remember U”, but it’s been 13 years since the singer released a full body of work. Well, the long wait is finally over. In late 2024, Fiona announced her return to music with her singles “Say Yes” and “I Choose You” which will be featured on her upcoming EP.

Kane Brown

Country singer Kane Brown released his third album Different Man back in 2022 and since then, he’s been releasing a few singles and collaborations. With the release of his recent singles like “Backseat Driver” and the Marshmello-assisted track “Miles On It,” Brown is revving up to drop his fourth album The High Road.

Miley Cyrus

2024 was already a huge year for Miley Cyrus as she took home two Grammy Awards for her single “Flowers,” including Record of the Year, and she’s already looking ahead to her new project. Cyrus spoke with Harper’s Bazaar to announce she’s releasing her visual album Something Beautiful in 2025. Although an official release date hasn’t been set, fans are anxious to see what the pop star can come up with creatively.

Nicki Minaj

Back in 2023, Nicki Minaj released her fifth album Pink Friday 2 which featured singles like “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” and the Lil Uzi Vert-assisted track “Everybody.” In 2024, Minaj took to Twitter to hold a Q&A session with her fans. While fans asked about new music and concerts, Minaj stated that she’ll be dropping a new album in 2025. The exact release date is yet to be announced.

BLACKPINK

It’s hard to believe that K-pop girl group BLACKPINK released their sophomore album Born Pink back in 2022. Since then, they’ve toured and performed at festivals like Coachella, and the group members dropped solo projects. Well, BLACKPINK is set to return in 2025 with a new album and embark on another world tour.

In the early 2000s, Amerie was one of the brightest stars in the R&B scene with hit songs like “1 Thing” and “Why Don’t We Fall in Love.” However, it seemed like after her 2009 album In Love & War, fans didn’t hear much music from Amerie, although she was still very booked and busy performing at festivals. In November 2024, Amerie took to Instagram Live to share some recording sessions alongside producer and songwriter Troy Taylor. She played several snippets of songs they worked on and stated that she plans to release a full project sometime in 2025.

Cardi B

It seems like fans have been waiting long enough for rapper Cardi B to drop a new album. It was back in 2018 when she released her debut album Invasion of Privacy to rave reviews. Since then, Cardi has been featured in several collaborations alongside artists like Latto, Normani, Anitta, and Megan Thee Stallion. In November 2024, Cardi took to Instagram Live to state that her sophomore album would finally come out in 2025. Only time will tell.

Lil Nas X

It was back in 2019 when Lil Nas X took over the airwaves and the Billboard charts with his breakout single “Old Town Road.” He followed up in 2021 with his debut album Montero, which featured singles such as “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” and the Jack Harlow-assisted track “Industry Baby.” In November 2024, Lil Nas X released two singles “LIGHT AGAIN!” and “need dat boy” which are set to be on his upcoming sophomore album Dreamboy.

André 3000 is the type of artist who believes in expanding his craft creatively, and since he doesn’t release his own music very often, fans can only guess what direction he’s coming in. Following the release of his 2023 instrumental album New Blue Sun, André recently sat down with Amazon Music to detail how he has new music on the way in 2025.

It was back in 2021 when rapper Roddy Ricch released his sophomore album Live Life Fast which featured his hit single “late at night.” Since then, Ricch has teamed up on collaborations alongside E-40, Meek Mill, Cordae, DaBaby, Gunna, and more. Following the release of his 2024 single “Survivor’s Remorse,” Ricch is set to his third album THE NAVY ALBUM on February 21.

Miguel has been very quiet in the music scene over the years, in fact, his last album War & Leisure was released back in 2017. It seems like the hiatus just might be over for Miguel since he released his latest single “Always Time” in November 2024. Although Miguel hasn’t given an official announcement of a new album, many fans believe his single is a sign of his long-awaited return.
