A reality television star is apologizing after crossing a line with his comment on global pop star Taylor Swift.
Wes Bergmann, who appears on "The Traitors," is apologizing for his remarks about Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's relationship, noting that he was "taken out of context."
During an appearance on "The Social Game" podcast, Bergmann said that he was "like the first person to know about any of this stuff" regarding Kelce and Swift dating "by like six months.” Bergmann said that he knew the two were a couple because he lives next to Kelce in Kansas City.
"Omg y'all I'm so sorry and confused," Bergmann said on social media Tuesday.
"Everything being reported on is none of my business. My contribution to this was taken out of context and said in what I thought was relative obscurity, but it obviously wasn't."

Everything being reported on is none of my business. My contribution to this was taken out of context and said in what I thought was relative obscurity, but it obviously wasn’t.

Bergmann explained what his intentions were with his comment on the podcast.
He [Kelce] moved in November, that’s all I know. I told Michele [one of the podcast hosts], who is a giant fan, hey this is serious. She didn’t believe me for six months. That was the intention of the comment," Bergmann said in his message.
"Again it was taken out of context but I shouldn’t be talking about it anyway. So consider this the last time I do."
Swift and Kelce have said that the relationship began after he mentioned her on his podcast back in 2023. Kelce also appeared at one of her concerts that summer, and explained that he wanted to give Swift a "friendship bracelet," as many of her fans exchange at her shows.
"We started hanging out right after that,” Swift said in a TIME interview in December of 2023.
"So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date."
Bergmann's comments may have been taken out of context, but it seems that he did appear to know that Swift and Kelce were at least seeing one another before she appeared at his game in Kansas City.
