SmackDown has revamped following its move to the USA Network. The show has undergone massive changes, including the production style and overall aesthetics. One of the most important unveils from the show was the logo and the catchy theme song that caught the attention of many fans.
Instead of having Def Rebel produce a track for the show, WWE turned their heads to main stream artists. It was announced that the hit track “Neva Play” by Megan Thee Stallion ft. RM of BTS is going to be the official theme song of SmackDown going forward.
Besides, the last theme of the song of the Blue Brand was produced by WWE’s in-house producer, Def Rebel. It was a pretty generic track that fell short of making any long-lasting impact on the fans. Therefore, there has been a tittle-tattle that WWE is looking for more such professional artists for the theme song in the near future for their events.

Moreover, the addition of stars like Megan Thee Stallion and RM from BTS has helped WWE grab a lot of pop culture buzz around the Season Premiere of SmackDown. It is going to be interesting to see more production changes in the company now that all eyes are on Raw’s debut on Netflix.
Def Rebel has been with WWE for years now. In its tenure, they managed to produce some of the greatest theme songs and some of the most generic theme songs in WWE history. Throughout its time, they faced outrage from the fans now and then. Now, it seems WWE also has had enough with the music producers, as a report has finally emerged on their contract.
According to PW Nexus, WWE has no interest in renewing the contract with Def Rebel now that it is close to its expiry. The report further adds that the plan is to move towards more professional and mainstream artists to produce music for WWE. This might include theme songs for the stars and PLE as well.
