Which albums are turning 25 in 2025?

It's hard to believe how much the music landscape has evolved since 2000. Back then, CDs were the most popular format for music purchases, digital music was starting to make waves, and teen pop stars were dominating the charts.  Meanwhile, hip-hop was expanding beyond its typical East and West Coast regions, with new voices emerging from other parts of the country. 

Let's journey back to the unforgettable year 2000 and check out the albums celebrating their 25th anniversary.

Britney Spears

In late ‘90s and early 2000s, pop music was all the rage and Britney Spears was right at the forefront of it. Just a year after releasing her debut …Baby One More Time, Spears returned with Oops!...I Did It Again. The album featured hit singles such as “Lucky,” “Stronger,” and the titular track, and it helped Spears win the Billboard Music Award for Artist of the Year.

Outkast

Just two years after releasing their third album Aquemini, hip-hop duo Outkast returned with their fourth album Stankonia. The album included hit singles like “B.O.B.,” “So Fresh, So Clean,” and “Ms. Jackson,”—a track that earned the group their first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Stankonia ended up winning a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.

Madonna

Two years after releasing her previous album Ray of Light, pop legend Madonna returned with her eighth album Music. It garnered three singles including “Don’t Tell Me,” “What It Feels Like For a Girl,” and the titular track. At this point in her career, Madonna still showcases her superstar status in the pop world, the album was 4x platinum within ten days of its release.
