Criminal Minds concluded its 15-season CBS run on Feb. 19, 2020, and exactly one year later, Variety's Joe Otterson reports the crime drama has a revival in the works with upcoming streaming service Paramount Plus.
"As the project is still in the early stages, details are still being finalized, including which of the original cast members would return," Otterson wrote. "However, sources say that longtime Criminal Minds showrunner and executive producer Erica Messer would return to work on the revival. As with the original series, CBS Studios and ABC Signature (formerly ABC Studios) would produce."
In 323 episodes, Criminal Minds garnered three Primetime Emmy nomination. The cast was led Matthew Gray Gubler as Dr. Spencer Reid, Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia, A.J. Cook as Jennifer Jareau, Joe Mantegna as David Rossi, Shemar Moore as Derek Morgan, among many others. The show followed them as criminal profilers working for the FBI's behavioral analysis unit to solve dangerous crimes.
