New England Sports Network, or NESN for short, is the primary broadcaster of the Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins.
If you want to keep up with those teams, as well as other regional minor league and college sports, you’ll want to be sure you can find NESN when you cut the cord from cable. Read on to find out where you can stream NESN.
Like many regional sports networks (RSNs), NESN isn’t available on every live TV streaming platform. Here’s a look at which of the major platforms carry the channel.

DIRECTV STREAM is a top choice for sports fans in any market. To get the most out of the platform, however, you’ll need a subscription to the Choice plan or higher.
With the Choice plan, you’ll have full access to NESN in the New England coverage area. Plus, you can watch major national and international action on over 15 other sports networks like ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNEWS, ESPNU, Fox Sports 1 (FS1), Big Ten Network, MLB Network, NBA TV and NFL Network.
All DIRECTV STREAM plans include unlimited cloud DVR space, and you can stream on as many devices as you want at home. Compared to Fubo, your other option for streaming NESN, DIRECTV STREAM is more expensive — but it includes a few sports networks you can’t get on Fubo, including TBS, TNT and TruTV.
Fubo is tough to beat for live sports. Its Pro plan features more than 30 sports networks, including NESN. Overall, the service offers more channels than competitors, including many channels for local, national and international sports. Keep in mind that with Fubo, if you live in an area where an RSN is available, you’ll have a regional sports fee.
New England cord-cutters can keep up with Boston sports, plus extensive national and international coverage on channels like beIN Sports, ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, NFL Network, CBS Sports Network and Big Ten Network. Fubo also has more sports channels available via upgrades or add-ons, including NBA TV, NHL Network, MLB Network, NFL RedZone, MLB Strike Zone, ESPNU and Tennis Channel.
Fubo has more comprehensive live sports coverage than any other streaming platform. However, there are some major holes for MLB, NHL and NBA lovers, as Fubo doesn’t include TBS, TNT or TruTV.
Whether those two streaming services for sports are outside your budget or you simply prefer a different option, there’s another way to watch NESN. The network now offers NESN 360, a direct-to-consumer subscription service that will bring all your favorite New England sports action to your smartphone, tablet, computer or streaming device.
If you live in the NESN TV market (the six New England states minus Fairfield County, Conn.), you can subscribe to NESN 360. The NESN 360 app is available on iOS and Android devices, Apple TV, Roku TV and Fire TV. You can also stream via most web browsers. If you already have NESN included in your cable or streaming plan, you can sign into the app with your provider information and watch at no additional charge.
NESN is available in New England on DIRECTV STREAM and Fubo. You can also stream the channel directly with a subscription to NESN 360. The annual plan currently includes four free Boston Red Sox tickets, too.
Outside of New England, access to NESN is blacked out. However, you can subscribe to MLB.TV for Red Sox games and ESPN Plus for Bruins games to get access to those broadcasts out-of-market. And all New England sports teams are regularly featured on national broadcasts.
Yes, NESN is available for direct subscription through NESN 360. You must live in the NESN market to subscribe.
