The University of Oregon will face new opponents this year, as this fall marks the school’s official entrance into the Big Ten. Initially in the Pac-12, Oregon, USC, UCLA, and Washington migrated east to join the prestigious Big Ten conference. Oregon is the best former Pac-12 school joining the Big Ten this year. With future matchups against Michigan, Ohio State and Wisconsin, fans are more excited than ever to watch the Big Ten this season.

Oregon comes in at #3 in this year’s Preseason AP poll, and that ranking brings high expectations. Quarterback transfer Dillion Gabriel will lead the Ducks this year. The redshirt senior threw for over 3,600 yards and 30 touchdowns last year at the University of Oklahoma. He threw just six interceptions and posted the 4th best QBR in the country. Gabriel is a Heisman favorite, and the Oregon Ducks will go as far as Gabriel takes them.

Star receiver Tez Johnson will be Gabriel’s favorite target this season, as Johnson had a stellar 2023 campaign, and decided to stay with the Ducks for one more season. The senior wideout totaled over 1,100 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Johnson fits right into the high-octane Oregon Ducks spread offense and will become a dynamic duo with Gabriel at quarterback.

For the last decade, the Big Ten has been a heavyweight clash between Ohio State and Michigan. The matchup ultimately decides which team will win the conference and appear in the CFP. With an expanded conference and CFP, expect Oregon to shake things up and possibly take home the National Championship this year.
