The Texas Longhorns are a perennial powerhouse in college football, but they’re about to face a big test: the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Horns’ 2024 campaign marked their first foray as SEC members after leaving the Big 12. And given the stature of the SEC, that means Longhorns fans are really about to find out what their team is made of.
True fans won’t want to miss a moment of this historic campaign. Fortunately, they’ll have plenty of options for where to find the Longhorns in action this year. Here’s a look at how to stream Texas football.
The Longhorns’ move to the SEC will bring a few changes to the team’s TV schedule. That means fewer games on Fox Sports networks and more games on ABC, ESPN and SEC Network. You’ll still find an occasional matchup on Fox, along with a few simulcasts on ESPN Plus. Although Longhorn Network won’t show any live games, you can keep up with exclusive programming and team news, which you can watch through the Longhorn Network website.

DIRECTV STREAM is on the opposite end of the spectrum from Sling in terms of price, but it’s one of the few live TV streaming services to offer RSNs. While you can watch some Longhorns games on ABC, Fox and ESPN with the basic Entertainment package, you may want to consider upgrading to the Choice plan for a slightly higher monthly cost.
The Choice plan comes with more than a dozen major sports networks, including ESPN2, ESPNU, ACCN, Big 10 Network and NFL Network. You’ll also get access to your favorite RSNs. Regardless of which of the DIRECTV STREAM plans you choose, you’ll have unlimited Cloud DVR storage, and you can stream on unlimited devices simultaneously at home.
Fubo may have sports covered, but it can’t compete with Hulu + Live TV for viewers who want a wider mix of entertainment. There’s plenty of sports here — especially for Longhorns fans — plus so much more.
When you look at Hulu + Live TV’s channel lineup, it includes ABC, ESPN, Fox and SEC Network, on top of a massive library of on-demand shows and movies. Your plan also includes Disney Plus and ESPN Plus for even more live sports and some of the most popular on-demand programming available across Disney’s major brands like Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel.
If you’re looking for RSNs, Hulu comes up short in that department. However, you’ll get unlimited Cloud DVR storage and tons of live entertainment, so it might be worth looking at over-the-top options for your local sports programming.
Sling TV is the most budget-friendly choice for streaming Longhorns games. You’ll need to be strategic about your Sling TV plan and add-ons, though. For the most affordable choice, try out Sling Orange with the Sports Extra add-on, and you’ll get ESPN and SEC Network, along with a nice assortment of other sports channels. You can then watch ABC and Fox over the air with an antenna.
It’s possible to get ABC and Fox in some markets on Sling, but you’ll need to expand your package to Sling Orange & Blue with Sports Extra. It’s more expensive, but this is one of the best ways to get a full slate of international and national coverage for a reasonable price.
All Sling TV plans come with 50 hours of Cloud DVR storage, too. The biggest downside is that Sling doesn’t include any regional sports networks (RSNs) in any of its packages.
Fubo was built for sports fans, so it’s definitely worth a look if you want to keep up with Texas football. Its Pro plan is the best value for most fans, as it includes major networks like ESPN, Fox Sports 1 (FS1), SEC Network, NFL Network, Big 10 Network, local channels and your RSNs. If you live in an area where RSNs are available, Fubo will add a regional sports fee to your monthly subscription cost.
Fubo also features tons of add-on or upgrade options for even more sports and entertainment. The top plan includes over 255 channels, along with more than 130 events in 4K. If you want to customize your coverage for your favorite channels, there are several different add-on options.
All Fubo plans now include unlimited cloud DVR recording with up to 10 simultaneous streams on your home network — plenty for most streamers. There’s one big caveat about this platform, though: Fubo doesn’t offer a few major channels, including TBS, TNT, BBC and CNN.
If you’re looking for more of a straightforward, maxed-out channel lineup that covers all the essentials for sports and entertainment, check out YouTube TV. With YouTube TV, you’ll get everything you need for Longhorns games, plus plenty of other sports across ESPN, NFL Network, FS1, ACCN, SEC Network and more.
Overall, YouTube TV features more than 110 channels — the best mix of sports, entertainment and news you’ll find on any streaming service for this price. It also offers a wide range of add-ons, such as premium channels, NFL Sunday Ticket, and niche offerings like Acorn TV. YouTube TV also includes unlimited Cloud DVR storage so you can always catch up with the big game on your own time.
Like Hulu + Live TV and Sling, YouTube TV doesn’t offer most RSNs, so it’s not the best if you want local sports. However, at this price point, adding an over-the-top option for your RSN won’t break the bank.
ESPN Plus, ESPN’s over-the-top platform, won’t feature all the Longhorns action this season. Still, it’s a great way to catch a few games, along with plenty of other college and pro sports action.
With a subscription to ESPN Plus, you can keep up with NHL games, MLB games, UFC Fighting, European soccer and much more. It’s also home to numerous award-winning documentaries and top-notch sports analysis. Keep your eye on the Longhorns’ schedule to see which games will be featured on the platform.
The Longhorns kick off their season on Aug. 31, hosting Colorado State. Despite their move to the SEC, Texas doesn’t begin conference play until Sept. 28. Here’s a full list of the Longhorns’ contests:

Of the major live TV streaming services, Sling is the only one to offer Longhorn Network. You’ll need the Sports Extra add-on for Sling Orange or Sling Orange & Blue to get access to the channel.
No, Longhorn Network is not available on Hulu + Live TV. However, you can find all Longhorns games on ABC, ESPN, SEC Network and Fox, which are all included in a Hulu + Live TV subscription.
Texas Longhorns games will air on ABC, ESPN, Fox and SEC Network. You can also catch a few simulcasts on ESPN Plus.
