Fans of the Michigan Wolverines are waiting with bated breath for the college football season, hoping that the team can repeat their championship-winning performance. It was the Wolverines’ first national championship in the College Football Playoff era, but going back-to-back might prove challenging. The team will be without the leadership of head coach Jim Harbaugh and standout quarterback J.J. McCarthy, who both departed for the NFL.
With fewer options to choose from at running back and receiver, first-year head coach Sherrone Moore has a lot on his plate: selecting a quarterback, introducing a new offensive coordinator (Kirk Campbell) and assimilating a new offensive line. Michigan’s reign may be in jeopardy.
University of Michigan football games air on Big Ten Network, CBS, Fox and NBC. These channels are available on live TV streaming services like Sling TV, DIRECTV STREAM, Fubo, Hulu + Live TV and YouTube TV.

DIRECTV STREAM’s channels cover a broad variety of sports, news and entertainment across four different plans. The base Pro plan includes CBS, Fox and NBC, but for Michigan Wolverines action, you must subscribe to the next-level Choice plan, which offers the Big Ten Network. This plan comes with the bonus of regional sports networks (RSNs) for local team coverage. More importantly, subscribers will not be charged a regional sports fee. ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, Fox Sports 1, ACC Network, SEC Network, TBS and TNT are just a few of the other sports viewing options.
With DIRECTV STREAM, you can watch your games and shows whenever it is convenient for you. If you don’t want to miss a live broadcast, you can record as much as you want, thanks to unlimited DVR storage. There is a nine-month storage limit on recordings, but the service more than makes up for it with three out-of-home streams and unlimited streaming at home.
Hulu + Live TV isn’t usually the first live TV streaming service people think of for sports coverage, but it’s worth a second look. Although there are very limited RSNs, you’ll find CBS, NBC, Fox, Big Ten Network, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNEWS, ESPN College Extra, and ESPNU, just to name a few. As a bonus, you’ll have access to Disney Plus for premium entertainment and ESPN Plus for even more college football coverage, combat sports and more. The Hulu on-demand library adds the latest episodes of shows like “The Bear” or “Abbott Elementary.”
Additionally, subscribers can enjoy unlimited DVR storage and streaming on two devices at the same time.
Sling TV is a great option for Wolverines fans looking for affordable streaming. Two of Sling's basic plans—Orange and Blue—have separate channel lists, with the third being a hybrid of the pair. You can also mix and match Sling TV channels from the many available add-ons to create a plan that is perfect for you.
Plans do not include CBS, but you will find Fox and NBC in certain markets with Sling Blue. There is an option to add the Blue Sports Extra to access Big Ten Network, FS2, the Golf Channel, NBA TV, the Tennis Channel, beIN Sports and more. The one major drawback is the limited 50 hours of DVR storage.
Fubo is a no-brainer for sports fans. What was once a soccer-focused live TV streaming service has become one of the go-to platforms for robust sports coverage. And you don’t need to venture far up the package tier chart to find value for your money. The Pro plan includes local channels ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC. You’ll also find Big Ten Network, CBS Sports Network, ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, FS2, Golf Channel and NFL Network in the package. For local coverage on RSNs like Bally Sports Detroit, you don’t need to upgrade because that, too, is part of the Pro plan. The only downside is the regional sports fee. This fee varies depending on your location.
In a recent update, Fubo increased its DVR recording capacity from 1000 hours to unlimited and will keep your recordings for up to nine months. You can also stream on up to 10 devices simultaneously on your home network and up to three devices away from home.
If you are a Michigan Wolverines fan, YouTube TV is another great way to stream live sports. You can watch all Michigan games here on CBS, Fox, NBC and the Big Ten Network, along with many other college and professional games on ACC Network, CBS Sports Network, ESPN, FS1, FS2, NBA TV, NFL Network and ESPNU.
YouTube TV subscribers can store as many recordings as they want in the cloud with unlimited DVR storage, make up to six personalized profiles, and watch three streams simultaneously.
