Penn State is coming off a strong 10-3 finish last season. Though they fell to Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl, they’re still heading into this season with some momentum. Will they get their first Big Ten conference title since 2016?
You don’t have to be in State College to cheer on the Nittany Lions. With a live TV streaming service, you can tune into the same games that are available on traditional cable. Streaming services are more flexible than many cable plans and don’t require equipment fees or contracts.
Penn State will take on rivals Ohio State and several other Big Ten names like Minnesota and Maryland this season. They have byes in weeks three and eight.

As a part of the Big Ten Conference, Penn State games appear on the Big Ten Network. You can also watch some nationally broadcast games on Fox. Historically, Penn State games have also aired on other networks that carry college football, including but not limited to CBS, NBC and ESPN, but those networks have not yet been announced as a part of the Penn State football schedule.

DIRECTV STREAM has both Big Ten Network and Fox in the Choice channel package and above. But that’s not where the action stops. Sports fans will also find ESPN, ESPN 2, NFL Network, Fox Sports 1 (FS1) and Fox Sports 2 (FS2), ACC Network, NBA TV and MLB TV in their channel guide. Plus, DIRECTV STREAM also has more regional sports networks (RSNs) than most other live TV streaming platforms. These include regional Bally Sports Networks and the Marquee Sports Network.
DIRECTV STREAM has a sports pack add-on, but many of these channels are already available in your plan if you have the Choice, Ultimate, or Premier packages. All customers get unlimited DVR storage with their coverage, plus unlimited simultaneous streams inside their home network.
Hulu + Live TV only has one channel lineup, but a lot to offer. All customers get local channels at no extra cost, plus an included ESPN Plus subscription. ESPN Plus has some full collegiate football games, plus highlights, analysis, and documentaries. You’ll also have the Big Ten Network for Penn State games, plus ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, FS2, NFL Network, MLB Network and SEC Network.
The best extra for football fans is the Sports Add-on, which delivers networks like NFL RedZone, Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel and FanDuel TV. All customers get unlimited DVR storage and two simultaneous streams, plus the full Hulu video-on-demand library. Notably missing from this option is NBA TV, which isn’t included in a paid add-on.
Sling TV is the most affordable option, but it’s not always great for local coverage. Fox is available in select markets, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Seattle with Sling Blue or Sling Orange & Blue (check your ZIP code to see what’s available in your area). If you get local networks, your bill will increase by $5 per month. You can also get the Big Ten Network with the Sling Blue Sports Extra for an additional $11 per month. This extra also has NHL Network, NFL RedZone, FS2, MLB Network and NBA TV.
Without the Sports Extra, the primary sports networks on Sling TV are ESPN on Sling Orange and FS1 and NFL Network on Sling Blue. Customers get 50 hours of DVR space or 200 hours with an upgrade. Sling Orange & Blue offers four simultaneous streams.
Fubo has historically catered to sports fans, and their collegiate football coverage is no different. In addition to Fox and Big Ten Network, viewers get all local channels plus ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, FS2, NFL Network, Fubo Sports, Golf Channel and regional sports networks. You can expand your coverage even more with the Sports Plus with NFL RedZone Extra. This is where you’ll find SEC Network, NHL Network, MLB Network, ACCN and NBA TV. Note that a fee may be applied for any packages that include regional sports networks.
All three of Fubo’s channel packages offer unlimited cloud DVR recording, so you can record Penn State football and watch the games for up to nine months before they’re automatically deleted. You’ll also get 10 simultaneous streams in your home network and three additional streams while away from home.
YouTube TV has a single channel lineup, but it includes Fox and Big Ten Network for Penn State games. You’ll also get all other local channels at no extra charge. Other sports channels available on this streaming platform include ESPN, NFL Network, NBA TV, FS1, FS2, SEC Network and the Golf Channel. Unfortunately, you can’t get MLB Network on YouTube TV.
If you also like professional football, it’s worth noting that YouTube TV is the official home of the NFL Sunday Ticket for out-of-market games. While you don’t need a full YouTube TV subscription to get the NFL Sunday Ticket, it’s easier to switch between live TV and Sunday Ticket if you have one. The Sports Plus add-on offers NFL RedZone, Tennis Channel, FanDuel TV and more. YouTube TV also offers unlimited DVR space and three simultaneous streams.
Penn State is a part of the Big Ten Conference, so some games air on Big Ten Network. Some games also air on Fox.
You can watch Penn State football if you have Hulu + Live TV. This plan has Big Ten Network and all local channels for college football, plus ESPN.
If you have an over-the-air antenna you may be able to pick up games on local channels for free. This includes collegiate football that airs on Fox, CBS and NBC.
