When Penn State's Abdul Carter speaks of the New York Giants, he speaks in terms of "we". It makes you wonder if he knows something we don't officially know as of yet.
We will know Thursday evening where Carter will be selected, but the way he is talking, it looks more and more like it is going to be the Giants at No. 3.
“Yeah, it’ll be a blessing to play with those guys,” Carter told NJ Advance Media, when asked about the possibility of playing with the Giants current defensive line. “I’m gonna come compete and we’ll form the best pass rush in the league.”
Carter was a long-time Philadelphia Eagles fan, but he realizes once he gets to New York, the rivalry begins. He will have to get rid of the Green blood that flowed through his veins.
“Once I go to New York, I’m all New York,” he said. “I’m gonna have to leave Philly behind.”
The first two picks before the Giants appear to be all but set in stone. Barring any last minute change of hearts, the Tennessee Titans will draft Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the first overall selection. The Cleveland Browns will then follow up by taking Colorado two-way superstar Travis Hunter.
Then, the Giants would pick at No. 3. It appears as though the brass has their minds made up and they will presumably select Carter with their first selection.
According to ESPN's Peter Schrager, who released his one and only mock draft Wednesday morning, the Giants are also projected to trade with the Los Angeles Rams for the No. 26 pick where they are projected to draft Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart.
