I know all us bass geeks are still getting amped up for the 2024 Classic in Oklahoma next month, but B.A.S.S. just announced their return to Fort Worth, Texas and Lake Ray Roberts for the 2025 event. It is estimated nearly 150,000 bass fans will attend this event, only the fourth time the Classic has been held in the Lone Star State, to see a new champion take home the coveted Bassmaster Classic trophy and a $300,000 first prize.

The last time the event was held at this location in 2021, North Carolina pro, Hank Cherry made bass fishing history by becoming one of only four anglers who have won back-to-back Classics. His three-day total weight of 50 pounds, 15 ounces averaged over 16 pounds per day.

From March 21-23, 2025, the Fort Worth Convention Center will host the Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo featuring the latest fishing tackle and outdoors accessories from more than 200 exhibitors. Plus, enthusiastic fans will have ample opportunities to meet a Who’s Who of bass fishing legends and royalty. Fans are invited to cheer on their favorites as they launch each morning on Lake Ray Roberts, then welcome them to the stage at the daily weigh-ins, including the always-exciting final day, at nearby Dickies Arena.

As reported on Bassmaster.com, “There was a lot of uncertainty in the world in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic the last time we visited Fort Worth — so much so that we had to move it to June instead of holding it in March,” said B.A.S.S. CEO Chase Anderson. “But the city of Fort Worth was so great to work with and the people in Texas came out and still made it one of the most exciting Classics we’ve ever had. They treated the Classic like what it is — a true celebration of the sport — even though circumstances forced that move to the summertime. Now, we’re really looking forward to going back to this fantastic venue during the time when the Classic is traditionally held.”

It is estimated that this event will create an economic impact of more than $25 million for the local businesses of Fort Worth and nearby Denton.
