On Friday afternoon, Matt Campbell and the Iowa State Cyclones landed a huge prospect in the Class of 2026, with a four-star quarterback heading to Ames, Iowa.

Jett Thomalla, a 6-foot-4 signal caller from Omaha, Nebraska, chose the Cyclones over offers from 12 different programs, including Arizona, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and more.

Coming out of Millard South High School in the Class of 2026, Thomalla is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 231st-ranked player. He also checked in as the 16th-ranked player at his position and the top-ranked player in the state of Nebraska.

In his career at Millard South, Thomalla has recorded some incredible stats. The Nebraska native has thrown for more than 6700 in three seasons with an overall touchdown-to-interception ratio of 76-14.

With his commitment, Thomalla became the 13th player to commit to Iowa State, a group that is listed as the nation’s 14th-best class. The trail only the Kansas Jayhawks in the Big 12, who are listed at No. 8 in the country.

“Coach Waters, the quarterbacks coach, is awesome and Mouser, the OC, is high energy,” Thomalla told On3’s Steve Wiltfong. “I still need to learn more about their offense, but Coach Campbell is highly respected and has created a great culture. My parents like it because it’s close and Coach Waters. They have been also recruiting me the longest.”
