The UNLV Lady Rebels have added a possible integral piece to their team from the transfer portal this offseason with the departure of leading scorer Amarachi Kimpson to Miami.
On Thursday, coach Lindy Larocque announced the commitment of Shelbee Brown.
Brown is a transfer coming to UNLV from the Akron Zips, this is Brown’s fourth stop in her collegiate career. Prior to her time in Akron, Brown played on year in Memphis before playing two seasons at Northwest Florida.
Last season, Brown was a star for the Zips. She led the team in scoring, averaging 14 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. Brown also earned All-MAC Third-team honors.
Brown stands at 5’11, her height and versatility are what the Lady Rebels are looking for this upcoming season.
“Shelbee brings incredible energy and versatility to our program,” said La Rocque. “We’re excited about her explosive athleticism and the impact she can make on both ends of the floor. More than anything, she’s a competitor who plays to win—an ideal fit for our championship culture. We’re thrilled to welcome Shelbee and her family to Rebel Nation!”
The Lady Rebels are just steps closer to completing their roster to compete for another Mountain West Conference championship.
