It’s not looking good for Blade.
Marvel’s vampire superhero movie has been removed from the studio’s release calendar. That means it’s been postponed, if not outright canceled.
Blade was previously slated for release on November 7, 2025, with Mahershala Ali as the lead role as the half-vampire fighting back against armies of supernatural bloodsuckers.
Disney will instead fill Blade’s slot with Predator: Badlands, according to Variety. That takes the total of Marvel movies releasing in 2024 down to three: Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
So, will Blade be coming back? It’s not looking good for the film, which has already suffered numerous delays. It was originally meant to come out in November 2023. Then, in June 2024, director Yann Demange exited the production.
We might see Blade in 2028, however. That’s because Marvel added three untitled projects to its schedule, set for release February 18, 2028, May 5, 2028 and November 10, 2028. It’s just as likely these are different projects entirely, though, and Blade may never see the light of day.
