
The Texas Longhorns just finished their first season in the SEC and are hot on the recruiting trail.
On3's Hayes Fawcett reported Wednesday that Texas was included in the list of official visits for 2026 edge rusher Khamari Brooks. Brooks is set to visit Austin from June 13-15.
He will also be visiting with the Georgia Bulldogs (May 30-June 1), Alabama Crimson Tide (June 6-8) and USC Trojans (June 20-22).
Brooks is listed at 6-foot-3, 230 pounds. He is a native of Bogart, Georgia and attends North Oconee High School.
Texas had a trip to the College Football Playoff and SEC Championship Game in 2024.
Brooks is a four-star edge rusher in the 2026 class. He is also the No. 94 overall recruit, No. 14 edge rusher and No. 10 player from Georgia in the On3 Industry Rankings.
Texas has three commitments from the 2026 class so far. The class features five-star quarterback Dia Bell, four-star offensive tackle Max Wright and four-star receiver Chris Stewart. .
If Brooks chooses the Longhorns, he would be the first commit on the defensive side of the ball for Texas.
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Georgia the best chance of landing Brooks, at 42.6%. Alabama (28.1%) has the next best odds, followed by Texas (12.2%) and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (3.6%).
Brooks's summer visit will be his first to Texas. He has already visited Georgia, Alabama, Georgia Tech, and USC.
Texas clinched a spot in the SEC title game after going 11-1 during the regular season. The Longhorns lost to Georgia in overtime 22-19 but were the No. 5 seed in the playoff.
Texas reached the semifinal before losing to Ohio State 28-14.
The Longhorns' 2025 season opener is against Ohio State on Aug. 30.
