Golfer Literally Urinated On Course During Masters Debut

When you gotta go, you gotta go.

On Thursday afternoon, Jose Luis Ballester made his first Masters appearance. While at the 13th hole, the reigning U.S. Amateur champion forgot there were bathrooms to the left of the tee box. To be fair, he's still getting used to the grounds at Augusta National.

Since he didn't have much time to waste, Ballester ran over to Rae's Creek at Amen Corner to relieve himself. And no, we're not kidding.

"I'm like, ‘I really need to pee.’ Didn't really know where to go, and since JT had an issue on the green, I'm like, ‘I’m just going to sneak here in the river and probably people would not see me much,' and then they clapped for me. Probably one of the claps that I really got today real loud, so that was kind of funny," Ballester.

Ballester made it clear that he wasn't embarrassed by this incident at all even though several patrons spotted him by Rae's Creek.

"They saw me. It was not embarrassing at all for me. If I had to do it again, I would do it again."

It's been an eventful week for Ballester, who was paired with Scottie Scheffler and Justin Thomas.

During a practice round earlier this week, Ballester's coach from Arizona State was kicked off the course for wearing shorts.

"I went out on the range without thinking, gave him a hug," Matt Thurmond told Golfweek. "After about one shot and one quick hello, they came out and said 'I’m sorry, sir, you can’t be on the range with your shorts.' My bad, it was a mistake I made. I want to follow the rules here when I’m at Augusta and do everything right. Lucky to be here and appreciate everything here. I just made a mistake."

Ballester shot a 4-over 76 during his Masters debut. We'll see if he can bounce back this Friday.
