While Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles is still waiting to hear back from the Swiss Federal Tribunal regarding the status of the multiple appeals she filed regarding the Olympic bronze medal that she was stripped of last August, the 23-year-old gymnast did get some exciting news on Tuesday.

USA Gymnastics announced on its official X page that Chiles and fellow Team USA gymnast Jade Carey were being honored by toy maker Mattel for International Women’s Day on March 8 in a pretty neat way.

Chiles and Carey each had their own custom Barbie dolls made in celebration of the event.

They’re part of eight new dolls in the International Women’s Day series, which also includes Australian tennis champions Evonne Goolagong Cawley and Ash Barty, British actresses Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple (of “Ted Lasso” fame), and Brazilian actress Paola Antonini and Kelen Ferreira, the real-life woman she played in the television show “The Endless Night.”

“ ONE OF A KIND @Barbie is honoring @jadeacarey & @ChilesJordan with their own unique dolls to celebrate the importance of female friendship & empowerment!” USA Gymnastics posted on X.

Both Chiles and Carey had a successful showing at the 2024 Paris Olympics. They each earned a gold medal in the team exercise, while Carey also earned bronze in the vault.

Chiles initially was awarded bronze in the floor exercise, but she was later stripped of the medal by the Court of Arbitration for Sport after it was deemed that the score inquiry filed on Chiles’ behalf that bumped her from fifth to third place wasn’t done in time.

However, Chiles filed multiple appeals with video evidence showing that her score inquiry was, in fact, filed in time, meaning her third-place score and her bronze medal should both be reinstated.

The Swiss Federal Tribunal still hasn’t made a decision about Chiles’ appeals, but many expect the court to rule in her favor with a likely outcome being Chiles, current bronze medalist Ana Barbosu and Romanian gymnast Sabrina Voinea, who ultimately placed fourth but also filed an appeal claiming her score was incorrect, all receiving bronze medals.
