So, you’ve just bought your fishing license for your local area, and maybe you’ve even caught a few this season. However, you’ve also been itching for a bit of a getaway somewhere different. Well, lucky for you, we’ve rounded up 19 of the best places to fish around the world.

The River Delta is unique in that fishermen have many different options for where to cast a line. There’s the river, of course, but also marshes, swamps, lakes, and small bays, depending on the type of fish you want to catch. You’ll mainly see catfish, bass, red bulls, and crawfish. This island province up north is the perfect place for easy day fishing trips. Base yourself in Eastern Passage (20 minutes away from Halifax) and enjoy small-town coastal vibes between trips out on the boat. Alternatively, you can go up to Cape Breton for salmon and eel.
