With spring training nearing, it's time to start thinking about your 2023 MLB future bets. With most sportsbooks offering odds on award winners, we dive into the NL Most Valuable Player market.
All odds are provided by OddsChecker.
Juan Soto, San Diego Padres, outfielder (+600)
Coming off his worst professional season, Soto enters 2023 as the favorite to win NL MVP. Breaking into the league at 19, Soto has averaged 25 home runs and 75 RBI during the first five years of his career. Now surrounded by Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Xander Bogaerts in the lineup, Soto should have plenty of opportunities to drive in runs and bounce back big in 2023.
Mookie Betts, Los Angeles Dodgers, outfielder (+900)
The 2018 AL MVP award winner, Betts hit a career-high 35 home runs and led the NL in runs (117) in 2022. He finished fifth in the NL MVP voting. Betts is a mainstay in a loaded offense and one of the best defensive players in MLB. He seeks his seventh Gold Glove Award in 10 seasons.

Trea Turner, Philadelphia Phillies, shortstop (+1400)
Turner, a career .302 hitter, led the majors in hits in two of the past three seasons after finishing second to former teammate Freddie Freeman in 2022. For the National League champion Phillies, he will be a table setter for a power-filled lineup that includes last year's NL home run leader Kyle Schwarber (46) and two-time MVP Bryce Harper.
