The Los Angeles Angels have experienced highs and lows in their young season thus far, as they won four straight series before their current four-game losing streak.

The Angels (9-9) lost two out of three against the Los Angeles Dodgers to start the year before winning two of three against the Chicago White Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Guardians, and Tampa Bay Rays. Then, they lost two of three to the Houston Astros and got swept by the Texas Rangers.

However, Los Angeles is getting a roster boost ahead of its upcoming series against the San Francisco Giants, via Angels PR.

The team reinstated shortstop Zach Neto from the IL and designated fellow infielder Nicky Lopez for assignment.

Neto has yet to play this season, but he slashed .249/.318/.443 with 23 homers and 77 RBI in 2024. Meanwhile, Lopez is 0-for-6  in 2025 and has slashed .247/.311/.313 with seven homers and 152 RBI over 672 career games since 2019.

The Angels drafted Neto No. 13 overall in 2022 before he made his MLB debut in April 2023, making him the first player in his draft class to do so. The Campbell University alum was hit by a pitch seven times in his first 15 games, a modern big-league record.

Neto then had his aforementioned breakout year in 2024 before undergoing shoulder surgery in the offseason due to an injury from the final week of the season.

Los Angeles will host San Francisco for three games before hosting the Pittsburgh Pirates in another three-game series.
