Braves activate 2B Ozzie Albies after monthlong absence

The Atlanta Braves confirmed on Wednesday that second baseman Ozzie Albies has been reinstated from the 10-day injured list following a monthlong absence related to a wrist injury.

Infielder Johan Camargo was optioned to the club's alternate training site in a corresponding roster move.

Albies, a one-time All-Star who earned 2019 National League Silver Slugger honors, last played on Aug. 4 versus the Toronto Blue Jays when the 23-year-old was complaining of right wrist stiffness. The issue, as noted by the club's official website, was later determined to be a bone contusion in his right wrist.

Atlanta will hope that setback was the reason for his early-season woes at the plate. Across 11 games this summer, Albies hit .159 with one home run, six RBI and 13 strikeouts.
