Braves Linked to Star Pitcher as Rotation Questions Loom

As the Braves continue to figure things out despite battling injuries to top players like Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuña Jr., the trade rumors continue to heat up.

With star right handed pitcher Spencer Strider officially headed to the IL, trade rumors continue to circulate around Atlanta. Although Strider was placed on the 15 day IL and is not expected to miss a lot of time, the Braves star is fresh off of an elbow surgery and only lasted 5 innings. With Strider's recent injury history, the Braves very well may find themselves on the market for a quality arm this summer.

Sonny Gray, who is rumored to be a top target for multiple teams come the trade deadline, is a name that should be monitored closely around the Braves, as Atlanta is expected to be in hot pursuit of the star pitcher. Gray, who is currently 3-0 on the year with a 3.41 ERA, would prove to be a massive addition for Atlanta, as a one two punch of Strider and Gray would instantly become one of the best in the league. The St. Louis Cardinals ace has been one of the better pitchers in baseball for the past few seasons, and his consistency can be hard to match. Gray is a reliable and bang for your buck type of player that would fit perfectly in the Braves rotation.

As Strider and the Braves continue to recover from injuries, Atlanta may find themselves shopping for an arm sooner rather than later.
