Travis Jankowski – RF

The White Sox have signed Travis Jankowski to a Minor League contract today. The veteran had spent time with the Chicago Cubs in camp this spring. He played in seven games this spring for the Cubs before being let go. He had three hits and three RBIs. Travis finished with a .231 batting average this spring. The past two season he was with the Texas Rangers playing in over 100 games in each season. The veteran outfielder saw a decline in his offensive production last year. He only had one home run and 12 RBIs. He also stole 11 bases. Jankowski had a .200 batting average and a slash line of .266/.242/.508 with the Rangers.

Nick Podkul – 1B

The Chicago White Sox have assigned Podkul to the roster today March 13th, 2025 ahead of their game with Milwaukee. Podkul split time between Triple-A and Double-A last year. Most of those games were in Triple-A with the Lehigh Valley Irongpigs. He played in 60 games with them and hit .231 with a slash line of .364/.418/.782. Podkul added nine home runs and 34 RBIs as well in Triple-A. Unlike Travis Jankowski, Podkul’s contract was reassigned rather than newly signed.

Mark McLaughlin – RHP

The Chicago White Sox have added McLaughlin to the roster today, March 13, 2025. This is ahead of their game with the Milwaukee Brewers. Last year McLaughlin pitched in 31 games for the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers In Single-A. He had two wins, four losses, three holds, and a 3.79 ERA over 61.2 innings of work.

Connery Peters – RHP

The Chicago White Sox have assigned Peters to their roster today, March 13th, 2025. This was done before their game with the Milwaukee Brewers. Like McLaughlin, Peters spent all of last year in Single-A with the Cannon Ballers. He pitched in 30 games with one loss and two wins on the year. Over those 30 games, he pitched in 41.2 innings ending up with a 4.75 ERA.

Seth Keener – RHP

The Chicago White Sox have assigned Keener to the roster today March 13th, 2025. Last year Keener pitched at both Single-A and Single-A+ levels. Over 16 starts last year, he finished with a four-win and four-loss season. He pitched in 69.1 innings giving up a 3.36 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP last year.

Overview:

The Chicago White Sox signed Travis Jankowski to a Minor League Contract today. This move gives a veteran a shot to make the team. He can provide a reliable veteran presence if he shows them something during the rest of the Spring Training camp. The White Sox are early in their rebuild process. I would not be the least bit surprised to see Jankowski break camp with the team. He could serve as a left-handed bat and fulfill a fourth outfielder role for this young team. The focus on veterans like Travis Jankowski could aid the team’s development.
