Cubs Star Gets Huge Praise from MLB Players
Rick Scuteri-Imagn Images

It is hard for a player of superstar caliber like Chicago Cubs right fielder Kyle Tucker to be labeled as underrated. It is not, however, impossible, as Tucker was ranked No. 5 on MLB's most underrated list that was voted on by the players.

The list is a bit contradicting to MLB Network rankings, which had Tucker listed as the No. 2 right fielder in baseball, behind only Aaron Judge and ahead of Juan Soto

So, is Tucker as underrated as his peers seem to think? It feels very hard to believe that a three-time all-star, Gold Glove winner, and Silver Slugger winner and someone who was ranked ahead of Soto on any list can be among some of the game's most underrated players.

Then again, the players that voted on it may feel that Tucker is not respected as much around the league as he should be. It may be that some players feel that the 23 home runs in 78 games that he hit in 2024 were underappreciated and unnoticed.

Cubs fans would gladly take another stellar season like that from Tucker, as Chicago is looking to get back to the postseason for the first time since the 2020 COVID-shortened season.

There is a world where Tucker catches wind of the list, and it fuels him to put together one of the best seasons of his career so far and help the Chicago get back to a place it feels it should be every season, and that is contending for a World Series.
