In the aftermath of the Yankees' bullpen meltdown on Saturday, Gary Sheffield Jr., son of former MLB star Gary Sheffield and host of the "Yankees Unloaded" podcast, took to social media to express his frustration with closer Devin Williams. Williams, who was acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for Nestor Cortes and Caleb Durbin, blew a four-run lead in the ninth inning, leading to a 10-inning loss.

Sheffield Jr. didn't hold back, tweeting:

"Devin Williams should be forced to shave until his ERA for a month is below 3.50."

The tweet quickly gained traction among Yankees fans, who echoed Sheffield Jr.'s sentiments. Williams' performance has been under scrutiny, with a 9.00 ERA over eight innings in nine appearances this season. Williams was one of the players who urged majority owner Hall Steinbrenner to rescind the nearly 50-year-old Yankees beard ban.

Sheffield Jr.'s "Yankees Unloaded" podcast has become a popular platform for candid discussions about the team's performance. In a recent episode, he and co-host analyzed the team's bullpen struggles, highlighting the need for potential changes if Williams continues to falter.

As the Yankees evaluate their options, internal candidates like Luke Weaver, who has experience closing games, may be considered. Additionally, trade targets such as Kenley Jansen, Raisel Iglesias, and Jhoan Duran could be on the team's radar if they decide to make a move to bolster the bullpen.

For now, the pressure is on Williams to improve his performance and solidify his role as the team's closer. With the Yankees aiming for a strong season, every game counts, and the bullpen's reliability will be crucial to their success.
