Livvy Dunne Reacts to Paul Skenes’ Masterful Performance

However far the Pittsburgh Pirates go this year will largely be determined by the success or failure of their pitching staff. Former LSU superstar Paul Skenes looks to be as dominant as he was in last season’s Rookie of the Year campaign. However, run support is still very much an issue and the team surrounding him is honestly not that good. That being said, there’s no doubt that Paul is arguably the best pitcher in baseball.

With many friends and family in attendance, Skenes pitched a gem against the defending World Series champions. He struck out nine batters and allowed just five hits in six innings of work leading Pittsburgh to a 3-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The players that Skenes struck out include the 2024 reigning National League MVP winner Shohei Ohtani and World Series MVP Freddie Freeman.

One person in attendance who was super impressed by Paul’s performance was girlfriend Olivia Dunne. Livvy shared videos on her Instagram story of Paul pitching and a photo of the box score that she captioned, “Literally slayed.”

On Pirates.com, Skenes talked about his outing and how important it was to put forth a great effort in Los Angeles in front of his loved ones. He said, “I was playing for free tonight. It was fun. I’ll go up there and see them here in a minute…It was all my mom’s brothers, my dad’s brother and their families are all here which is cool. It hasn’t happened for a while so [it’s] cool to be able to share that with them.”
