The Los Angeles Angels could not be more excited to have Mike Trout back on the field. After the superstar outfielder played in just 29 games during the 2024 season, he was forced to miss the rest of the year due to another knee injury.
Trout is back on the field in spring training and gearing up for the start of 2025.
Since the 2019 season, Trout has had trouble staying on the field. He has played in 53 games in 2020, 36 games in 2021, 119 games in 2022, 82 games in 2023, and 29 games in 2024.
As one of the most talented players in baseball history, it has been tough to watch him go through so much in recent years.
Ahead of his comeback this year, Trout spoke out about his plans and approach.
During an interview with Michael Rodriguez of "Mike Depodcast," Trout offered a powerful statement about his future.
"I think the last couple of years have been tough. People say you go through things to come out better, so that's the mentality. I have good home support. I know the Lord up top knows his plan, he's got a plan for me and I just trust him," Trout said.
Throughout his prestigious career, Trout has totaled 378 home runs to go along with 954 RBI. He has a career slash line of .299/.410/.581 as well.
Gone are the days of Trout teaming up with Shohei Ohtani on the Angels. He is left by himself as the superstar face of the franchise.
Fans are hoping to see the 33-year-old superstar come back to his old form. Trout seems well prepared mentally for his return and his faith is playing a huge factor.
