The New York Mets are on fire to begin the 2025 season. They have won 18 of their first 25 games, including seven straight after Wednesday night's win against the Philadelphia Phillies.
New York currently holds a commanding five-game lead in the National League East division, the biggest division lead in baseball. The Mets have had several memorable moments this year, including multiple walk-off wins and last-second victories.
Additionally, no team in baseball has been better than New York at its home ballpark so far this season. After thirteen games in New York, the Mets are off to a historic start in Queens.
In a post on Wednesday after the Mets walked off Philadelphia, MLB announced the historic news that New York's 12-1 start at home this season is the best in franchise history.
This was just one nugget the league highlighted, also pointing out the Mets swept the Phillies, own the best record in all of baseball, and are on a seven-game winning streak.

It's no surprise the Mets have been so good at home. For starters, their pitching staff has been sensational. Their cumulative ERA in games played in Queens is just 2.34, which is the best mark in baseball.
Additionally, the Mets have a +25 run differential in their first 13 games at home, good for fourth-best in the Big Leagues.
Last season, the Mets went 46-35 at home, good for a .549 winning percentage. They are currently on pace to go 75-6 at home after their first baker's dozen worth of games. While that number is certainly unsustainable, it's clear that Citi Field has become a difficult trip for many opposing teams.
