Red Raiders Baseball Standouts Earn D1Baseball Top 50 Recognition

On the heels of Texas Tech first baseman Peyton Shulze being recognized by D1Baseball as one of the top 50 at his position in college baseball, two other Red Raiders are now also earning a like recognition.

Junior Damian Bravo was named the No. 10 second base prospect while sophomore TJ Pompey was named the No. 25 third base prospect by D1Baseball.

Bravo also received Preseason All-Big 12 honors after winning last year's Big 12 batting title. He hit .378 with 21 doubles, four homers and 44 RBIs in 210 plate appearances.

The Haltom City, native also finished with the highest full-season batting average by a Red Raiders player since Josh Jung, currently playing for the Texas Rangers, hit .392 in 2018 and won that year's Big 12 batting championship.

Pompey is fresh off an outstanding freshman year that saw him earn Freshman All-American honors by both the NCBWA and Perfect Game. He batted .279 with 10 home runs, 49 RBIs and 41 runs scored.

He was fourth on the team in home runs, third in RBIs and sixth in runs scored while going 12-for-14 in stolen base attempts.

The 2025 Red Raiders open the season with a three-game series beginning on Feb. 14 at No. 6 North Carolina at 3 p.m.
